Another report for Germany’s international broadcaster DW Deutsche Welle. I was given the opportunity to visit the Amazon region in Peru in order to cover the broad consequences that the oil palm expansion brings to the people that call this land their “territorio ancestral”, the indigenous Shipibo people. We were accompanied by a group of the Peruvian arm of “Transparency International“, who try to help the most defenceless by investigating corruption in the big land-deals in the Ucayali region.
